International Turner
Syndrome Conference
Copenhagen
August 2009
“….wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen,
Salty old queen of the sea.
Once I sailed away
But I'm home today,
Singing Copenhagen, wonderful, wonderful
Copenhagen for me.”
So go lyrics of the lovely song “Wonderful Copenhagen”
sung by Danny Kaye in the 1952 film “Hans Christian
Andersen”.
Copenhagen is the beautiful venue for the 7th International
Turner Syndrome Conference to be held on 27-29 August
2009. That’s only just over a year away!
Conference organisers expect about 300 delegates from
around the world, and several fine hotels have been
pre-booked for delegates’ use.
The conference program will soon be available on the
organiser’s website.
Have a look at www.turner-copenhagen2009.dk. There
is a lot of information already there, including about
accommodation. And, for all you sight-seeing enthusiasts,
historians and lovers of all things attractive, here is an
enticer for you that is copied from the web site:
“You will soon discover that one of the great joys of
Copenhagen is its compact size, which means that most of
its main sights and attractions can be seen on foot.
The sheer density of attractions within the city means that
organised tours are often a good way to make the most of a
short visit and there are plenty of walking, boat, bicycle and
bus tours to choose from.
Furthermore, outside the city dozens of other sights and
attractions await you.
And, of course, do not forget to pay a visit to Copenhagen's
most famous daughter, the Little Mermaid who lives just a
short walk from the city centre by the sea at Langelinie.”
And don’t forget our Aussie Princess Mary there!
You can receive updates about the conference by email from
the organisers.
Simply go to their web site www.turner-copenhagen2009.dk
and register by email.
Joan Andersen, one of the organisers, can also be
contacted via email andrijoa@mail.dk.
